Having a healthy break

Are you the kind who is running around the clock, trying to balance things at home and work? Do you constantly live under work pressure? Do you have odd eating hours and haphazard eating habit? If you have answered yes to most of the questions then you are in dire need of a break, a healthy break.
Below are mentioned a few things people can do who spend half of their waking life at work. Try these and you will see changes in your approach towards work.
Meditate
The best way to wrap up a hectic day is by meditating. Meditation helps you look inward, be calm and ultimately get rid of negativism. A person who constantly lives on the edge would understand the importance of having a clear mind. Meditation helps bring this clarity. It is also important to realize that thoughts have a direct effect on our physical body. Hence being mentally relaxed is very important and should be made a top priority.
Meditation becomes better when you are closer to nature. So when you feel y
our mind needs a break opt for a meditation center. Rishikesh and Kerala offer lots of meditation opportunities. The centers here run Yog and Meditation courses which can work wonders for your well being.
Challenge yourself
Adventure has a magical quality. It brings out that part of your personality which is subdued when you are busy meeting deadlines at work. It freshens up the head, helps you shift focus from the everyday idiosyncrasies. So grab the first opportunity and go rock climbing, take day trips around the city or arrange for a jeep safari trip to Leh – Ladakh. Do something wild; push yourself to limits which you yourself were not aware could achieve. And when you have cleared one hurdle after another there is a sense of accomplishment which lifts your mood and does wonders for your self esteem.

The after effects of adventure activities are fantastic. You will find yourself more focused in your work, you will have more energy than before and you will also be cheerful throughout. The positivism that comes into you after a challenging adventure holiday helps in doing a lot of constructive work.
Indulge mindfully
You took a long deserved break from work. And now you are in a fantastic place which has some of the best cuisines to offer. Without realizing you go overboard and overeat and continue harming your body. This is unfair. As much as the mind needs to unwind, the body needs a break too.
So while vacationing can be about sight seeing and shopping it can also be the perfect time for you to spend time making healthy changes in your eating habits. Start with a heavy breakfast and as the day proceeds take in ‘healthy-snack’ breaks, practice not to miss the three important meals of the day. Take small quantities of food and take a bit of everything in your plate. Goes without saying drink lots of water and eat lots of greens.
